Folk Music and I met by accident when I was a young ‘un. I had an acoustic guitar. Folk Music had its coffeehouses and folk clubs. I wanted to sing and play and folk music offered me a stage. We’ve been friends ever since. At the time I neglected to mention to folk music that I actually didn't know a helluva lot about it. My background was strictly LPs and FM Radio. In others words, not very folky at all. It's like thinking the only version of Hound Dog is by Elvis. And then you hear Big Mama Thornton singing the same song, recorded 4-years before Elvis. I had a lot to learn. Louis Armstrong allegedly said 'All music is folk music. I ain't never heard a horse sing a song.' In other words, it's broader than you'd think. Don't narrowly define the soul out of it or plant your flag on some hill you think is bigger than it is. To put it another way, in folk music's house are many mansions. You can probably guess which mansions I've been hanging out in over the years. I should probably step aside and let someone else see the view from here. But I'm just having too much damn fun.

PRO GEAR FOR SALE
I've been sorting through a lot of my clobber in recent months, and have decided to clear out some stuff. One of my guitars is on its way to Restring Appalachia. Another was loaned (permanently) to a studio I love. I also found a couple seriously cool pro gear items that I no longer need. There's a Grace Designs acoustic instrument preamp/EQ, a Hiscox small-body-sized acoustic guitar case and a Hoffee dreadnought-sized hard shell guitar case. If you're in the market for some seriously good gear, but don't want to pay full price, then Email me and I can send you the details.
