RELEASE DATE 25 AUGUST 2023! Brooks Williams & Rab Noakes sing songs by Don Everly. Avoiding the bigger, more well-known hits, they find inspiration in the deeper album cuts and B-sides. In September 2022 at Chem19 Studio near Glasgow, Rab and Brooks stand facing each other behind a perspex divider, acoustic guitars in hand, and sing the songs you hear on this album. Surrounding them are Hilary Brooks on piano, Kevin McGuire on bass, Conor Smith on pedal steel and electric guitar and Signy Jakobsdottir on drums. With Paul Savage at the mixing desk, eleven songs are recorded in three days ‘live from the floor.' A little over a month later, sensing all was not well health-wise, Rab asks Brooks to see this recording to completion. Williams says, “It is an honour to have worked with my musical collaborator and dear friend on what turned out to be his final recording, and an honour to help this recording see the light of day and get out into the world.”
